Minecraft’s Latest Snapshot Updates Chat Reports For Safe, Non-abusive Building

Minecraft is a game you should play with your friends. Sometimes, you’ll all be working together to make something awesome and other times you’ll utilize mods to recreate Eldenring, and other times you’ll browse servers online to see what else the internet has to offer. If you’re playing online with other players it’s not uncommon for things to get messy, and this appears to be the problem that the latest Minecraft snapshot is trying to solve.

Minecraft snapshot 22W24A is here today, and it’s progressing towards 1.19.1 by making a few bug fixes and two new features. Chat reporting is the primary feature. This allows you to report abusive messages being sent in chat in game. The blog states that “any reports made during testing will not be considered,” but that it is important to recognize that toxic players are an integral part any online game. This could be an excellent step.

Chat reporting can be accessed through the social interactions screen and you’ll have to report individual chat messages and choose a category for them, too. This is probably to protect the system from being misused, since it is not possible to create a report that is generically about the player. You need to describe what they’ve done and the blog mentions that the report will be reviewed by a moderation team. There’s no telling yet what constitutes a true and effective report however it’s important to know the details.

Beyond that another major modification is that the amazing Minecraft alloy can now be duplicated. You can do this by providing them with an amethyst shard, but duplication has a 2.5-minute cooling time. This will help ease the stress about how many allay mobs there are. Also, a cute thing can only be good news, right?

We are hugely impressed by the Mario Kart mod for Minecraft. minecraft servers adds the karts that you like to Minecraft, and also adds some amazing aquatic features.
